Sephora Gift Card - Loss of Value even though it was never used

I received a Sephora Gift Card  with a value of $100.I used it on May 09th 2025 , where I scratched the card to reveal the Card Number and Pincode , it stated that there was only $52.88 available to use ? What has happened to the balance 47.12 ? What would be the resolution for this ?
