Sephora Gift Card Issues

It's so upsetting to have to be yet another consumer affected with all this gift card scams.

I bought two gift cards from CVS for two different people and surprise surprise both had zero balance on them. I reached out to the store manager who said to call the number on the card and mentioned that they had never had issues with Sephora cards but recently their corporate office had asked them to remove the gift cards from behind the counter to the floor. Well that was a bad idea since here we are now, because neither CVS or Sephora want to take responsibility for the issues we are facing as consumers. 

Some ppl spend the little money they have to purchase these gift cards for their loved ones just for some scammer to do this and these companies to pretty much tell us you're SOL. 

It's incredibly frustrating to be told call here, call there and nobody to take any accountability or preventive measures to protect the consumer. 

Is this truly good customer service? 

Never again will I purchase a physical gift card, in my opinion we are better off with eGift cards at this point. 

If this happened to you, save the time and effort and just dispute with your credit card company, that's what I'm doing.
