Sephora Distribution Center & Returns

I returned La Mer Eye Concentrate and La Mer Soft Cream in the original boxes, not even halfway used.  I decided to return because I was having a reaction.  After a month I received an email from Sephora that said they were unable to process returns for items that are more than gently used.  When I spoke to customer service I was told the return distribution center noted that I returned the product empty and there wasn't anything that they could do and they couldn't return the items.  It didn't even seem they wanted to help in any way, customer service just told me what was noted on the account and it was like too bad.  I did speak to a supervisor who opened up a case for me but I'm not optimistic.  Is Sephora really robbing me of nearly $300 worth of products?!
