Scratched/ Damage Gift Card

I have a physical gift card from Sephora that I cannot use because it was scratched too hard and the last four numbers are not readable. I have went to a Sephora store so an employee could try to scanned it. She told me, it didn’t go through because there’s a scratch on the black line also. I did it by mistake by scratching with a coin. It’s a Christmas present. It has $50 dollars.
