Instead of believing everything you hear, please research before making a post. Had anyone done so, they would have found that SEPHORA HAS NOT MADE ANY DIRECT CONTRIBUTIONS TO TRUMP. They are owned by LVMH, who donated to HARRIS. Please stop with the misinformation.

Sephora needs to make an official statement about this. I am VIB and am actively considering canceling my account and purchasing directly. Already did it for MAC

We need an official statement though - regarding THIS election and what Sephora's parent company did as well. I'm a VIB and am currently reviewing other cosmetic website options. I'll give it a week before I have to leave if no statement is made. We gotta put our money where our mouths are - a great majority of SEPHORA'S customer base is made up of women and/or the LGBTQ community, and I can't in good conscience shop at companies that would help fund taking away our rights! Whilst I appreciate this link to information, and am thankful for it and thankful they perhaps do not take sides, this is not an official statement released by Sephora in direct reference to this.  

Yes I agree that it says they do not make political donations, which covers a broad range of things, however I genuinely think an official statement stating they as a company did not endorse either side in this election, if that is the case, needs to be released to protect their brand.  

Social media is in a frenzy over this. Damage control needs to be done to prevent their brand suffering.  They need to speak to their customers directly and specifically about this, so that their customers know that they matter.   

A link to say go here and read this, is not speaking to your customers to reassure them.  It’s saying you don’t have time to do so and that they aren’t important enough to justify spending time on it. 

I’m a 100% Sephora girl to the core.  But I want to feel like I matter to Sephora and that they can spare an hour for their customers to reassure them.  If they don’t, I’m not sure I will be so loyal, if I don’t matter to them, why should they matter to me?

This comment from the original poster: "SEPHORA HAS NOT MADE ANY DIRECT CONTRIBUTIONS TO TRUMP" gives me pause, so I think Sephora should also affirmatively state that they did not donate to any Political Action Committees (PAC), many of which are lacking in transparency in order to hide the true source of campaign contributions, whether those be corporate or private.

That said, I personally understand the shock/trauma many of us are experiencing as a result of the election. Springing into action to boycott businesses who have supported Trump seems like a good way to combat the helpless feeling many of us are having. This is something I'm currently weighing.  But I want to make sure that punishing some of these companies won't end up harming others as a result. These corporations aren't just made up of the top brass who have made decisions to donate. I don't believe that all of Sephora's thousands of retail employees support the election results. But I believe it would be those people who would be the most hurt by a boycott, with lay-offs or total job loss that would directly impact families in the event of a major dip in profits. Sorry to be wordy, I think we all need to take some time to think through the consequences of our actions.

With so many women & LGBTQA individuals being loyal customers of Sephora, it makes sense to me that a lot of people would be upset over this. If it is just a meritless rumor, that needs to be said loud and clear.

I would also appreciate some clarification from Sephora. VIB - previous Rouge - and I too cannot support a company that supports taking away women’s rights.  

Doesn’t matter what else good that party may do, taking away women’s rights is unacceptable and unforgivable.
