SEPHORA CREDIT CARD SCAM

Sephora is running a scam. It says I am able to use the temporary card both online and in store as soon as it is approved. I got approved right away and got the temporary card. However, when you try to make an online purchase using the temporary card while waiting for the actual one, error shows up and it doesn't work! I called the customer service and the agent told me that they can only activate the actual card but can't do anything with the temporary card. You will see all over Sephora statements and FAQ's, saying you can use the temp card right away. This is a big lie and they are running a scam! Also, I haven't received any email notice that my actual card is on the way or I opened an credit account with Sephora. They should send a confirmation email. This is crazy! 

I can't believe they are doing this to the customers. I have been Sephora member for more than 15+ years, and truly disappointed. 

This is a true example of FALSE advertising, and a SCAM!

I'm sorry to hear this. I recommend ensuring that the shipping address matches the billing address on file with the card exactly. Additionally, I recommend reviewing the temporary card limit and checking that your order is within the limit. Alternatively, you may need to wait for the physical card to arrive in the mail which should take about 10 days and I apologize for the trouble. I'll share your feedback with our credit card teams.

There is no way to enter billing address on the temporary card. It doesn’t have any input fields to enter it on the screen. Also where do I see the temporary card limit? I wasn’t aware of any such limit when I applied. How do I check that? Also, can you send me a confirmation email with those details?

@mandaha, the billing address is the address you used to apply for the credit card. The confirmation email will contain your credit card limit and more information. The email is sent directly from Comenity Capital Bank and we do not have access to it. However, if you did not receive the confirmation email, please contact Comenity Capital Bank at:

I had the absolute same problem! These guys are frauds! They scam customers into thinking that they can make the purchase and when you get approved and cannot make the payment, the customer service folks say they can do nothing about it! SCAM ALERT!!
