Rude sales associates

I walked into the store on New Years Eve, immediately the employee held up her phone to show me the time and alert me that I had 1 minute before they closed. I had stopped in to buy my daughter a birthday lip gloss (that I thought was from Summer Friday’s)…I quickly told her that. She ushered me over to the Summer Friday area…told me that the product was sometimes there, sometimes not and they didn’t have it.  She then turned to walk me out of the store….no browsing for me! I wasn’t really surprised by the disgraceful service, as it unfortunately is the norm at Sephora. I have been given attitude because I asked for my birthday reward…how shameful of me! They are always bothered to answer a question, or advice about skincare, make-up, perfume….sad that this is what we have come to expect when going into a Sephora, in addition the the looks of judgment from the top of my head to my shoes…so fun. I remembered that the lip gloss I was looking for was a different brand, so I decided to back and look for it.  I walked in and found a NICE helper, who actually came up to me and HELPED me!! Oh the shock!! She found the gloss and was SUPER sweet & helpful!  She continued to help me find multiple items for my daughter, more glosses, with a cute keychain!! She walked away and I actually stood in the line surprised.  My mind had some beauty questions, I made eye contact with the same lady and she smiled.  I said, I have a few more questions…she led me to a few more products, which I bought, with her help!  She was patient, helpful, and tried on different colors for me on her hand….listing pro’s & cons….she was awesome.  Upon checking out, I felt the need to tell the person how amazing she was….she had a cute ponytail, glasses, super sweet & helpful….and then came punch line.  The cashier told me that that woman didn’t even work there, she was a product rep from another company.  Well, sadly, Sephora should hire her, or at the very least, have her train the current employees how to engage with people.  She was a diamonds in the rough, a person who loves her profession and made me feel great about my purchases for me and my daughter.  I came in for a gloss…and left with WAY more.  Isn’t that what you want in your sales people?  I have spoke to quite a few people about their experiences with Sephora, as I am in the beauty field, mine was not a rare occurrence. I felt the need to reach out, just so you were aware.  I wish I would have gotten the woman’s name who helped me.  She was awesome.  Thank you for taking time to read this.  Have a great day!
