Rollerball leaking

I purchased the tocca rollerball yesterday. I went to use it and noticed it was almost half empty. The bottle cap was leaking my hands were covered in the liquid. It seems like the ball in the rollerball package is loose? I don’t know but it’s definitely defective. Should I get an exchange or just forget it?

I was thinking of doing that. It was odd to me so much was missing. The smell is so overwhelming to me now after opening the cap after it went on my fingers. I’ll ask the store clerk. Hopefully the box hasn’t been thrown out yet.
