Ive been saving my points up for YEARS. I finally decided to spend them on the Beauty Insider Advent Calendar. The description says it contains makeup, accessories, and skin care. It it was also 2,500 points which is a ton and items in that point range are full size high quality products and sets. So i expected the same. I opened it all today and I am EXTREMELY disappointed. It contains NO MAKEUP, NO SKINCARE, and ALL promotional cheap beauty insider "accessories" I have no clue what half of this stuff is. Just putting this here to warn the rest of you and hopefully they make changes because I would never pull a Karen but this is INSANE.
I got it last week as well and I am beyond disappointed. Not at all as advertised and a complete waste of a lot of points! I'm also frustrated that there is no solution being offered to us for sending something that isn't at all as promised. It's not what any of us paid for (in points)! I noticed it wasn't in the rewards bazaar today... At least no one else will get disappointed like we did.

If the chat is unavailable, please keep the page open until the next agent becomes available. Thank you!
Best,

I'm so glad others are just as disappointed in this as I was! I even had my 12 year old niece open it with me and she was disappointed as well. It was definitely NOT worth the 2500 points and completely falsely advertised. It takes such a long time to accumulate those points and I took a leap of faith getting this. Shame on you Sephora!
@sahteenn @Katluna213 @Jellynelly5 I'm so sorry for your disappointment in the Beauty Insider Advent Calendar Reward and that it wasn't what was expected. I just posted about this as well. It’s a complete scam that was advertised incorrectly. It clearly says not a Sephora product and it’s 100% Sephora products and no makeup, skincare, bath products. Customer service is refusing to help. The rep I talked to said that management will reverse any type of credit or points they try to give as they have strict instructions not to offer any compensation. I have such a sour taste. I don’t think I can even shop the upcoming sale. It’s very shady. I’m sick over this. Like throwing away $100, which is the credit this amount of points yields. Guess this will be my last year as rouge. Well I already qualified for 2025, but now I am very jaded.
**UPDATE TO POST BELOW** Sephora made it right! They found a way to get my points back and I could not be happier. The support that came from the community forum far surpassed what I got when I called. Thank you to @DaneeBTfor being the Sephora rep that I hoped to find sooner. ** This was such a disappointment! I think Sephora response was the only thing more disappointing. After not charging what would be in it and taking the chance on trusting that Sephora wouldn’t try to pawn only their branded mini merch on those who collected 2500 over such a long period of time - what a joke. I was told (read to ) by a supervisor the company policy while they then tried to tell me they understand how I feel and that they care. Uh…no. Unacceptable. The fact that this is such a mess and so many people are more than dissatisfied I just expected more from them as a company and actually putting customer satisfaction as a priority!
Complete scam. I just posted about this as well. I even posted the screenshot of the description. I am astounded that Sephora thinks this is ok. I can not in good faith keep shopping here until they fix it. I don’t think they care about a small number of people. I feel like I was scammed.
I'm so sorry to hear how disappointing this was for you, the picture shared below shows skincare and makeup on the product listing, and what you received does not match that description. @sahteenn I hope Customer Service listens to everyone that felt let down by this and takes steps to make it right.
I fought so hard to return this, but was denied the chance so gave it to my girls and today they opened box 3 and 5 and they were empty.. add insult to injury. I am so frustrated and discouraged, I will not be buying from Sephora in the future.
@sahteenn I think it would be acceptable to contact CS.
I also eagerly purchased this advent calendar only to find absolute junk in it! The point value is worth $100 and this is NOT anywhere close to a $100 value. What a complete waste of points!! Such crap!
Here is a screenshot just in case! I got duped too! How sad! I loved Sephora.
This has been so discouraging trying to get my points back, this product is absolutely the worst.
Thank you for posting a picture! I was intrigued and actually added it to my cart, but wanted to know more before dedicating 2,500 points. Sephora needs to add a third photo showing what is or could be in it. It does take away some mystery to do that but helps prevent disappointment (although I am glad they didn’t put in nail stickers). Looks like your box is all accessories. I think I saw a B.I. eye mask for 250 points a while ago.
@sahteenn Aw, I’m sorry—and also annoyed that this advent calendar doesn’t contain what Sephora advertises. I checked the description and it does indeed say “Treat yourself to a daily dose of joy from December 1 through 24 with this advent calendar, containing makeup, skincare, bath, and accessory surprises to discover.” The product you got definitely doesn’t match that description. Sephora needs to change that description on the product details page. (Tagging @SephoraBIC to get some eyes on this.)
I know someone who was thinking of spending points to get this for his niece. Thanks to you, I’m about to save him 2500 points. Your experience is definitely helping others!
It was false advertising. The description said it would have makeup....I ask where is the makeup? I lost most of my points to this and almost all my desire to ever purchase from Sephora again. Sorry this happened to us!
@sahteenn @Sorry to hear it wasn’t what you expected especially since it didn’t include items you thought were stated.
