Returned to store credit!!!!!!

Hi there

i return the dyson hair dryer which was found on my vib rouge card and I asked to get it back on a gift card so I can purchase some things online and the lady said that was fine but I got home and realized it's store credit! I have things in my cart and it's the VIB rouge sale! Please help!!

I've had store credit on two separate returns recently.  To my knowledge, it's not necessarily if you have the receipt or not, but WHEN you originally purchased the item.  I had a receipt/invoice for two things I returned that didn't work for me (two different days), and both times the employees in my store I usually go to if I don't order online let me know it wasn't the fact I had the receipt, although that helped, it was the fact that it was outside the return period. 

I have three standalone Sephoras all within 20 miles of my house though, it wasn't as much of a hardship to use the store credit as it might have been for someone that lives a couple of hours away from one though.

I bought a drybar hair dryer and styler and it was a gift for my daughter.  Bec her birthday was months away, I couldn’t return it within the time period when it didn’t work out.  Instead of a gift card, I got in store credit.  But I always shop online and even returned it w receipt.  Sephora really needs to change their policy specially for Rouge / VIB customers and I rarely return anything!!!!

The same thing happened to me! The cashier said I'd be able to use the credit online but the card she gave me said specifically that you can't!

I've unfortunately had a Sephora employee screw me like that as well! Unless CS can figure out something, they told me that once the store credit was issued there was no way for me to use it online/get it refunded again. It really sucked because it was a NEW employee who screwed up my return, typically a return with a receipt or proof of purchase can be put on a gift card that can be used online a return without receipt is given as store credit only usable in brick and mortar locations.

I am a former employee and I was told that they have a new policy that started in May ‘17 that returns with no receipt will now be issued in store credit. Which is bull! I loved Sephora’s return policy. One of the top reasons I chose Sephora over Ulta.

I thought gift cards & store credits are the same? It's still treated as cash no? I've used my credits online before.

Unfortunately, the white merchandise credit cards can only be redeemed in-store.  I would call the store and ask them to work with you to resolve the issue.
