Return(s) Jail?

This was very discouraging as an avid Sephora shopper. Today I had to return a couple of items that did not work for me. As much as I wanted to love them because I really liked the look the MUA did for me during my makeover. I purchased most of her recommended products 12/22 and today is 01/10. To my surprise after my return is processed, the cashier gave me a print out saying I have been warned and I can't return anything for 180 days. What?!?!?! This is my first time ever hearing about such a thing. I had to think how many times in the last year I returned something to a store. I can only think of 1 other time in Novemeber when a product gave me an allergy from Sephora. What is the point in having a return policy if I'd be penalized for it?

That's terrible. I go in store to skin test products to avoid returns. The SAs always tell me that I can just return it if I'm allergic.

So I was returning to a Jcpenny store. Even though I had an emailed receipt. SA checked me out as "nonreceipted return" which was the issue. So called number on the warning receipt. The guy tells me I can't return something for 6 months now. #angry
