Return policy NOT 30 days if online order

I made an online purchase on April 13. All items arrived April 24. When I went into a tore to return some of the items on May 19, I was told the 30-day return window had closed. This was only 25 days after my items arrived. 

Does Sephora not start the 30-day return period from the time item is delivered? By staring the window on the date something is ordered online, rather then the date the item is received, it shortens the return window significantly. No other store I’ve purchased from does this.
