Return Without a Receipt + Horrible Customer Service

I recently received several products as a gift, and unfortunately do not use anything given to me. The purchaser bought everything at Sephora, but unfortunately did not provide me with any kind of receipt & is not a beauty insider. I went to my local Sephora to see if I could exchange the product I was gifted for other product, as this has been done for me before in your stores when I have been gifted things without a receipt (they have used my driver's license to do the return.) I went to two Sephora's in my area - not only was my return denied, but I was also met with poor/rude customer service and told "these are good products you should want to keep them." While I understand you have a specific return policy in place, this is extremely unfortunate in a case like this. I am VIB rouge, and a loyal customer. I could understand this being an issue if I was seeking to receive a refund, however it's extremely disappointing that I was basically told I now have to eat $300+ worth of brand new, untouched product I have no use for. Especially since I am simply asking to exchange or receive store credit (not to mention I always end up spending more.) Can anything be done about this?
