Return Warned

I went to do a return for an unused product at Sephora with receipt, sealed in original packaging. It was purchased only one day prior. I was surprised to be issued a return warning. I purchase several thousands of dollars in products at Sephora every year and have not made any return without receipt. Any return that was made was with receipt for product(s) that was unused, in packaging, and within the return timeframe. Therefore, I do not understand why this has happened.

I’ve never returned without receipt and got a warning too. All of my items have not been used, as I don’t think it’s fair to the store to return used items. There were 2 instances that the employee marked return without receipt Bc their register did not work. I even had the receipt to show in hand and the employee was even able to look up my items. She could see that the items were purchased not returned. However, when she went to mark for return, the system did not work produce my return. I told them she could just do return without receipt because I buy a lot from Sephora anyway. Both items were around $65 and $28  so they’re under $100 total. Considering how much I purchase (I’m rouge). Of course I have to return a lot. 

 

It’s unfair for consumers and I probably will just buy from Nordstrom from now on. I never put the store at a disadvantage and always return products unopened and unused. But getting this warning is embarrassing.

Exact same thing happened to me.  It IS very embarrassing.  Especially when one prides themselves on NOT taking advantage of their "relaxed" return policy.  Even when the sales reps push buying and trying and often don't have the time or knowledge (frankly) to recommend the proper cosmetics/creams for specific skin types - mature etc.  I almost always take samples when I buy the product so as not to have to return used products if its not for me.  I received this warning (not ban) and had items that they refused to return.  Paid for parking twice and called this 3rd party & finally was able to return those items, but that potential ban is still looming.  This 3rd party monitor is going to cause Sephora to lose their best customers.  How do we fight this? or do we just stop shopping there?  I have lots of gifts that I want to buy too but I don't want to take a chance that I/they can't return.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Regretfully, we are unable to provide any information on denied transactions. Returns are processed through a third party called TRE. I suggest contacting TRE (The Retail Equation) at 1-855-835-2320 to see if they can look into this a bit further and provide you with additional information. I understand this may be disappointing and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Same thing happened to me yesterday and i am A Rouge!! It was embarassing in front of other cutsomers standing in the line! They should have sent me an email before about their policy change and not insulted me like that! I am thinking of suing them!! Done with Sephoa!
