Refund to a gift card?

I paid for an order with 2 gift cards, and two days after I placed the order I was sent a shipping notice and got another email that one of myitems had been canceled due to it being out of stock. I was told I would receive a refund for the item that was canceled. I am wondering if I will get a refund to one of the gift cards I used (I threw one awaybecause it had no money left on it after I placed my order) or if I will get store credit or some other form of payment. I emailed customersupport and got an automated email in return that had nothing to do with my question. I replied to that email like it said and still haven’t heard back. I would really like to know how I will get my refund as the gift cards I used to pay for my order were birthday presents. Thanks

I am in a similar situation. I really regret sending my product back rather than waiting to take it into the store for a gift card reimbursed right away.
