Redeeming Store Credit

I made returns at a Sephora Store and they gave me a store credit card instead of what I usually get/purchase (which was Gift Cards). I normally do not have the time to shop at a store which is why I always shop online and with this store credit card I am unable to shop online nor to give it to anyone. I am really hoping to be able to speak to a sales rep. and see if I can get it as gift card instead, or online credits. It would be much more convenient for me in this sense. Is this possible?
