Redeeming Points After Purchase?

Hello! I purchased something in store earlier today, and checked my receipt and saw the Beauty Insider portion and just joined once I got home. I was wondering if it would be possible to redeem points after I made a purchase, or if you’re only allowed to redeem points at the register. The woman who was helping me didn’t offer to have my join the rewards program, so I didn’t get the chance to reward points 😕
