Question about the birthday gift

This year is the first year I'm able to get the free birthday gift from Sephora and I just had questions. It says I'm an insider so a member and I don't shop in Sephora on a regular. I was wondering I would have to make a purchase before getting the gift or since I'm a member I'd get it with no purchase before.
