Product Reviews

I'm seeing so many reviews from people that have not purchased the specific product and I'm wondering what the approval process is? Are they even being read before approved? I see people bashing or praising products based on pictures, YouTube reviews or opinion of the brand/owner. There needs to be a better approval process because these non-reviews are influencing buyers.

Re: Product Reviews

Hi @cara80,

All reviews are read and moderated to abide by our guidelines. We'll reject reviews which include obscenities, discriminatory language, spam content, or critical comments about other reviews or reviewers. Your review will also be rejected if it includes personal contact information or non-Sephora URLs. All approved, valid reviews will be posted within 72 hours of submission.

Best Regards,

❤️ Raquel

Re: Product Reviews

I figured reviews with obscenities or personal info would not be posted but the reason for my post was to highlight reviews being written by people that have clearly not used the product.  There are many reviews that aren't even about the product in question but give opinions on the brand or launch.  Some give low ratings because they don't like colors used or rate high just because they like the owner.  These reviews don't help anyone in deciding whether to buy.  The only reviews that should be posted are those that tell readers how the product performed.  Two examples of this are anything Fenty releases and the new Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered.  Reviews came out before these products were launched and for Fenty, people just love Rihanna but with Huda Beauty, reviews were low because people didn't like that she released a previously stated limited edition palette.  As per your response, these reviews are being ready so why post those that have nothing to do with how the item performs and will help consumers decide what to buy?
