Price adjustment

Hi, I purchased two coola sunscreens few days ago with original price and it arrived yesterday. Today I found out they have sale. I started a chat with a customer agent to request a price adjustment. However she didn’t help much, and make me very confused. 

 

Esdras, Sephora Beauty Advisor said,

We will be happy to honor a REGULAR RETAIL PRICE within seven (7) days from a client's purchase on the Sephora website. Please keep in mind that we will match the regular price only (no sale prices, discounts, or special offers) This item shows its on sale for a lower price. 

 

What did she mean? I was very confused and she didn’t help much so I quit the chat.

I received the items just one day before the sale, the price adjustment sounds like normal way to fix it, right? I just don’t get what she was trying to tell me. Can someone explain? Thank you.
