Poor Customer Service

I hate to even complain but I went to pick up an online order today and left feeling very devalued as a customer. I have shopped at Sephora for years and am just really disappointed in the customer service today. I ordered curbside specifically so I would not have to go in because I was coming off of a 5 in a row night shift and did not want to get ready. I was wearing Yoga pants, an oversized shirt, and Uggs. My hair was in a clip and I was not wearing makeup because I was going to go home and go back to bed. I just wanted to be able to pick up and go. Well I got there and curbside was not allowed for some reason so I had to go in and get it. I looked around for a little bit and then finally approached someone to assist with online order pick up. They told me they would have someone come help me and to wait by the door. Well I waited for about 10-15 minutes when finally a customer who was dressed very nicely came and stood by me waiting for her order. About a minute later, an employee came made eye contact with me who was clearly waiting first in a makeshift line but addressed the other lady first and proceeded to help her. Did not speak to me at all and then started to close the case when I stopped her and told her I was waiting for my order as well. Can’t help but feel this was a judgmental encounter because the lady didn’t even speak to me. She acted like it was a simple mistake but why would I just be standing at the pick up cabinet for no reason. Left feeling very bad about myself and feel like if I had been skinnier, dressed like I normally do and had my makeup on, things would have happened differently.

I’m sorry that happened! 😔 I honestly stopped shopping in stores because of how rude the employees can be. It’s across the board from multiple stores. If you aren’t dressed up or a full face of makeup they don’t give you the time of day. I regularly spend $200 when I hope for my “essentials” but now I just do it online to avoid being ignored or being rude to.

Be careful buying online. Customer service is horrible there as well.  It will take you 20 minutes just to reach a customer service agent on the phone and in my case, I verbally received misinformation. Sephora is all about taking your money and doesn’t care if you are treated well or happy with the outcome.
