Points expiration

I recent got a blank email from Sephora saying tbd as the titles. Not sure if that was the email. How do we know when the 18 months start? I haven't seen anywhere in the app when my points will expire. I only got 1700+. Not much to work with but I haven't see anything much that I wanted. I got accidentally selected that Bobbie brow cult favorite. Just wondering

Your points only expire if your account is completely inactive for 18 months. If you make a purchase, redeem points or your birthday gift once every 18 months, your points will continue to roll over!

I believe the 18 months is immediately from your last purchase date. You do not have to spend your points in order to keep them; just purchase a product from sephora. Just to play it safe, assume it has started unless they send you an email saying otherwise.
