Package returned to sender?

Hi, I ordered some Christmas presents a few days ago (I have flash shipping, though for some reason it was predicted to come pretty late, which was fine). I checked the status and it said my package had been returned to the sender, somewhere in Maryland. I was just wondering if the package would be resent or if I would be refunded? Thanks!
