Online returns via PayPal

I made a purchase online and paid via Paypal. I went to Metrotown Store to exchange the product to the correct one, but the product was out-of-stock. In that store they said they can provide me a card for purchases in store only, because their system doesn't allow returns for purchases via "PayPal" and the product I wanted will likely come back next week (Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense item 2673473). It has been almost 2 months since I made the purchase and the product is still unavailable in all the stores in the Greater Vancouver. I don't understand how a company like Sephora is unable to update its system! Other retail companies are much more advanced with their Procurement in all sense. Looking forward to your feedback. Thank you.

@howcome12, I'm sorry for the disappointment with the return policy and that the item you'd like to purchase is unavailable. Online orders paid for with PayPal and returned in store will be refunded to a Store Merchandise Credit, which can only be used in stores. This credit does not expire and can be redeemed in any freestanding Sephora store. We value your feedback, and I'll share this with our teams for continued improvements in our service.
