Online promo code item/sample issue.

I placed an online order on the 15th of this month. I redeemed the promo code for a sample of the Dior foundation (shade 3N), and I also selected 2 samples at checkout. I got an email the next day saying that my promo code redemption was "canceled" due to the item being out of stock. Ok, so not really a huge deal. I've elected to redeem a promo code with just about every online order I've ever placed, and this was the very first time I've actually had one canceled. It happens. However, when I opened my package earlier today... I found zero samples inside the box. I would not have minded receiving different samples than the ones I chose. So far that's a canceled promo code item and 0/2 samples if you're keeping score. What actually puzzled me and is the reason why I am writing this post is that I can still see the "out of stock" sample of the Dior foundation (in the shade that I picked), as well as one of the two samples as available items on the Sephora app. I get that they're freebies and not the end of the world... but I've already complained about missing samples once before, and I see that I'm not the only one still experiencing this. Furthermore, why would I get an email about a promo code sample being "out of stock," but that same item is apparently still available to redeem online? I would like to see Sephora look into providing the option for you to select a different promo code to redeem if the one you originally choose is out of stock. I don't always buy a full size product after trying a free sample; however, the overwhelming majority of my full size product purchases come from samples and/or promo code redemptions. I don't know if there is an inventory/logistical issue with one or more of Sephora's distribution centers, but it needs to be looked into. It's disappointing to not be able to try new items, yes; but it's a little irritating to not receive ANY extras with my order... only to look and see 2/3 of what I picked apparently still available online?!? At least put something in the box, you guys. Or make sure that you take down online promo codes/samples if they aren't actually available. Thank you for your time.
