No samples policy

I was just at Sephora during my lunch break and was trying to decide between two colognes. I have never asked for a sample before but heard you could do this. Didn’t really care to wear the two colognes on each wrist especially going back to work. I was told by the associate they did not give out samples of fragrances anymore but I was welcome to buy their 10 sample pack. Has anyone else had this occur to them? Now I have two smells on each wrist mixing together at my nose 😕

Is this a new policy at Sephora or is each store different?
