No invoice return

I recieved a gift from a family member and the package did not come with an invoice however I want to exchange an item. The family member that ordered does not have a sephora account that I know of. Is there a way I can exchange the item?

@kieracurly If it was ordered online, you can use the email confirmation the purchaser received at the time they placed the order to return or exchange.
