No free samples?

In my last order, it was not only split up into multiple boxes but I never got the free samples that were suppose to come with the order. I understand they are free, but I was testing out the bite lip scrub before deciding if I wanted to buy it. How common is this problem?

My order from last week, arrived yesterday (2/1), did not have a single sample inside. Not even one substitution.

It came from the Abderdeen,MD warehouse. 

Last year, 60% of my orders had no samples, the others either had 1-2 out of three samples (when Sephora gave 3), or substitutions. Only two orders had the samples I ordered. I was seeing newly-released samples already on eBay. I stopped shopping at Sephora until now.

You asked how common it is to not receive samples. From my experience and from reading others past comments concerning this, I'd say it's not uncommon to occasionally not receive any samples. I receive samples 95% of the time. However, it is extremely common to not receive the samples I request, and I think many others will agree. I would suggest that it's probably better to expect that you will receive substitutes for the specific samples you request. Then you won't be disappointed, but you might get lucky and pleasantly surprised whenever you do receive your specified samples!
