No confirmation e-mail or order record from purchase made in Sephora store

Today I went to the Sephora store in Bridgewater Commons, NJ, and an employee tried to help me find a foundation I wanted. The store didn't have my shade in stock, so they offered to order it from the warehouse and have it shipped to my house within two days. The total for the foundation + tax was shown and I paid in cash. The employee applied the money to a gift card, which she used to order the foundation for me. She took my e-mail and phone number and said that I should receive and order confirmation by e-mail soon. After waiting about 30 minutes I did not receive a confirmation and the order was not seen in my order history. I returned to the store and another employee tried assisting me. She found the receipt for my purchase of the gift card and the transaction on the gift card, and told me to wait a while more for the e-mail. It has been about 5-6 hours, and I have yet to receive a confirmation. I would like to know if my order has or is processing and if my money went to waste or not.
