No associate made in store samples?

My husband went in today (9-2-2022) to purchase a cologne. I asked him to see if he could get a sample made for me while he was there. When he asked the sales associate said no they don't make samples. I know this was stopped for a while but I thought stores had started again. It was for a fragrance if that makes a difference.

I used to work for Sephora. In early 2020, just prior to shutdown, the stores (in my area, at least) were notified that Sephora would no longer be offering custom made fragrance samples.  To my knowledge, stores no longer receive the supplies needed to make these samples, and are limited to samples sent sporadically by the fragrance companies. 

Stores will generally still make samples of foundations/moisturizers or other products that can be hygenically sampled into jars
