New giftcard having a balance of $0

I received a $50 gift card for Valentine's day. I just tried to place an order using the card. I entered the code, just scratched the pin & it showed in my cart the card had a balance of $50. I clicked checkout & the website glitched. my ordered was no placed but now my gift card is saying it has a value of $0....
