My account and points disappeared

I have had a Beauty Insider account for years. I was even a VIB this past year, had thousands of points, and all of a sudden my password was not working. Sephora said my email was not registered with them even though I have been getting points and emails from them for years. I now had to make a new account, same email, and I have zero points. I was also continually active so my points did not disappear because of that. I am so upset!
