Lost package

Like many, I buy from the Sephora store a lot. I recently began purchasing online due to corona virus and just not wanting to go to the mall. I had a package ordered July 9th and one that was ordered some time after this date. The second package arrived fine but the first package was taking forever. I figured the delay was due to corona virus (?) or possibly because I ordered more products in the first order. Idk, but I checked my email today and it says the package was “left at front doorstep” 07/23/20 (yesterday) and it never was. My bf and I are basically home all day now since we both work from home. We never left yesterday. There wasn’t a package. I live in apartments so packages can be pretty annoying. We have mailboxes, and sometimes the mailboxes are used but other times packages are left in front of the door 😞 I only have ONE neighbor who has Immediate access to the front of my door and they typically knock on our door when they see a package before we do (as we do the same for their packages to minimize theft). It’s frustrating to think this was theft related when it seems like the package just didn’t reach the doorstep despite saying delivered. My email says delivered, but after asking the neighbors and looking around it’s just not there. Do delivery people steal products? I know Sephora packages are unlabeled because my other orders came Covertly packaged and this has never happened before. Sorry this is so long. I’m just bummed. Wish it was my other packages missing and not the one with these products. What are the next steps I need to take?
