Kesem Donation/Sponsorship Request

To whom it may concern,

My name is Alessandra Isaacson, and I am a 1st year student at Case Western Reserve University. I am also a chair on Camp Kesem's chapter in the Greater Cleveland region, and this year I have the privilege of organizing our annual fundraising event, the Make the Magic Benefit Dinner.

Kesem Greater Cleveland is an entirely volunteer, student-run summer camp and year round support system for children whose parents have cancer. It is our goal as college student leaders at Case Western Reserve University to support these children through and beyond their parent's cancer. Envisioned and developed by students at Case Western Reserve University, Kesem Greater Cleveland is supported by Camp Kesem National, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. There are currently no other camps and few services offered in the Greater Cleveland region that provide these children with the support they need to ease the fear, anger, guilt, and sadness they experience daily. Kesem provides year-round peer networks that offer a community and connections far beyond the one-week camp experience. Campers have the unique opportunity to have a week of carefree, summer fun, build friendships, and gain strength from peers facing similar challenges. Kesem is open to all children 6-18 years of age regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, or financial status.

Our Make the Magic benefit gala plays a huge part in how we are able to meet our fundraising goals. Last year, we raised over $36,000, which we could not have done without the help of our local sponsors. This year, we are looking to raise $45,000 with about 120 guests in attendance, and would really appreciate your help! Apart from monetary donations, we would also appreciate any beauty items for gift baskets or anything Sephora would be willing to give!

We are hosting our next annual "Make the Magic" fundraiser event on April 6, 2024 (6:00PM to 9:00PM) and would love for a potential event sponsorship or in-kind donation (for our silent auction) and your organization's members to be present. This event helps share our mission and raise awareness within our Greater Cleveland community. We invite your organization to help fund a portion of our annual event at any means possible.  All donations are used to provide services directly to children and we will prominently acknowledge your contributions and support of our mission to help ease the pain of cancer and give children back the chance for a childhood, which everyone deserves. We will prominently acknowledge your contributions throughout the evening in our program, slideshow, and post-event collateral, as well as on our website and social media pages.  All donations are used to provide services directly to children and we will prominently acknowledge your contributions and support of our mission to help ease the pain of cancer and give children back the chance for a childhood, which everyone deserves.

If you are interested, I can email copies of the 501(c) 3 form and sponsorship packet if needed!

Best,

Ananya Kumar and Shilpa Thandla
