Item removed from order

So I ordered the Anastasia beverly hills subculture eye shadow palette when it was on sale and it was removed from my order for being "out of stock". but when I checked the Sephora website, it is in stock. It is just no longer on sale. which is not the same thing as being out of stock. I purchased it when it was on sale so just because it isn't on sale anymore doesn't mean I shouldn't get the palette for the price at which I ordered it. I just want to know why it was removed from my order and if it truly was out of stock, why was I allowed to order it on December 31st and then only alerted that it was out of stock on January 4th. 

 

To make things worse, I tried emailing customer service about it and I only got an automated response which didn't even remotely address my issue.
