Inventory Error. Paypal still processed

I just tried to purchase an order of about 9 items and when I went to check out I got an "inventory error". I went back and my cart was empty. I have no "recent orders" on my account but I did get an email from Paypal saying that the payment was being processed. 
I have no idea what just happened but I'd like to know if my order actually went through or not and if I'm going to have to re order and settle this through Paypal.
