In-store credit to online?

I recently returned an item at a Sephora store. It was passed 60 days and they didn’t have the item I wanted in store. So I opted for merchandise credit. The rep asked if I wanted to order it online, but I figured I’ll order it myself later online since I had my kids with me. When I went to check out online that’s when I found out my credit was only for in-store purchases. I wish she had disclosed this to me when I was there. I don’t want to have to make a trip back to the store to order what I need and then go home again to wait for the product to arrive. I would have ordered it when I was there if I had known. Is it possible to call the store to order over the phone with my store credit or transfer the credit to an online credit?

Update: I was able to order an item in store and use the in-store credit. I had to physically go to the store as they cannot take payment over the phone.

Hi @mamegoma81, I apologize for the confusion! Items that are returned after 60 days will be refunded in the form of store merchandise credit. Unfortunately, this credit cannot be used online, and I do not believe that the cast member would have been able to place an order for your online with it.  If they did offer this to you, I would recommend reaching out to them directly again for confirmation.

Thanks for the info. I thought if an item is not available in the store, they have the ability to order it.

@mamegoma81- They can definitely order it for you, but to my knowledge the system they use is essentially Sephora.com, and the cards cannot be processed there.  If they did offer that, though, I would get their confirmation too.
