In-store and Online Accounts Separate

Hi! I've been purchasing items on Sephora website with my online account but today when I went to an offline store, they couldn't find my account with my email address. So the staff registered my email address and created a Beauty Insider account for me, and this is the very email address that I am using for my online account as well. Is there a way that I can merge those two accounts?
