In-Store samples question

I was at my local Sephora, browsing perfumes, when I saw paper strips in little jars.  The Sephora rep (who was covering a shift or something, I know she is usually in skincare) offered me a sample, but spritzed it on the paper strip.  I asked how do I take it home, and she gave me a little bag to put the paper strip in.  The strip is ok for the scent test at home (my nose can't differentiate too many competing scents instore), but I've got skin conditions that perfumes can irritate, so I don't want to start melting in a mall lol.  I can't apply any from a strip because it's dry when I get home. 

So the fun part was when I asked my makeup groups about it, including my Sephora fb group, because I thought maybe it was a policy change.  And I got roughly 100 different answers, from "no, my store goes out of their way to give me samples" to a lot of claims that "the staff treat me like i'm dirt if I ask for a sample".  

I don't think I'm doing anything shady, and I always buy product when I'm there. 

I guess my question is this:  Is there some change to store policy re: samples?

Hi @ImChristina! It sounds like she may have been unfamiliar with fragrance sampling.  Our policy has not changed! You can still request a sample of a fragrance.  I would recommend reaching out to a different cast member the next time you are in the store and see if that helps.  If you want to send me a PM with the store location you visited, I can forward this feedback over to them so her Store Director can coach her!
