I’m banned from returning!?!

Well, since the year 1999, and my first visit to the Sephora flagship stopes in NYC, I was hooked on beauty…but apparently, being a Rouge member which means I have to spend at least $1000 a year and I averaged several thousand a year, maintaining my rouge statue, always having a receipt for a return that didn’t work for me, and returning well within the 30 days, surviving Covid even though I have a compromised immune system meaning that I cannot risk too much in store purchasing and tend to do a lot more online since 2020, with salespeople pushing me to purchase because of the return policy, never knowing that Sephora would ban me from returns for a year, (I realize this is a run on sentence but there’s just too much here)…I am officially done with Sephora. The report that they sent me which supposedly shows my many returns makes no sense. I had a receipt for every return yet the report says no receipt for every return. And most of the returns took place during covid 2021…a few in early 2022…and there are several months between purchases. I’m not sure if it’s some company that they hire to do this kind of audit but clearly it does not take anything logical into consideration. For that reason and the many others I’ve described, I’m officially done. I’m using up my thousands of points and the $10 for 500, and once  I am done, I am unsubscribing and never looking back again. There are way too many options out there and businesses with the same or better products with much better customer service and above all, the treatment of the customer-I was also never given any sort of warning by the way. It’s appalling. So long Sephora. Major disappointment.

This kind of thing has been happening for decades already. I was banned from returning to Targwt for FIVE years in 1998. I had just had my son and I not only didn't really know what fit my new body very well, but I also didn't want to be in stores any longer than I had to be with a baby. I almost always had my receipt and never took the tags off either. I never knew it was a thing until I went to return and was told that it would be my last one for 5 years. It's been 25 years and I still rarely even go in there bcz it made me so angry. I spent THOUSANDS in there (on the stuff I actually kept obviously) and they didn't even give me a warning or accept my explanation. My "boycott" may not have meant much to them but I know I'm not the only one.

the same thing happened to me this week!!!! i spend thousands on sephora annually, i am a rogue and bought a bunch of shades of a bunch of different foundations for the sale spending a couple thousand bucks. and i did a piece of the return when i got that print out WITH NO WARNING so i have multiple shades of three different expensive foundations at my house as well as a few different primers i was trying that made me break out. i cannot be expected to keep wrong shades when i couldn’t try in store and products that made me break out. sephora has always said try it out you can return it!!!! i keep WAYYYYY more than i would ever return. i’m so appalled and upset i don’t think i’ll ever be able to shop at sephora again while i’ve been a loyal sephora shopper for 15 years spending thousands a year. i really don’t even return that much though so i am incredibly shocked needless to say. my sister spends more at sephora than i do annually and returns way more annually and she hasn’t gotten the print out but is scared to shop at sephora again either cos i am currently stuck with about $800 of product i cannot use. if it makes you feel any better i was shown today that i am not a valued customer at sephora either. it doesn’t really hurt from a brand you’re a top tier buyer at and that is your favorite.

@beachgirl704 I'm sorry to hear about this experience and I will share this feedback with the appropriate department for future consideration.
