How to keep an account from being inactive?

Does completing a beauty insider challenge for points (like by signing up for texts) count as account activity that will keep my points from expiring for another year? Or does a transaction have to be made?

@chirp321 Points only expire if your account is inactive for 12 consecutive months or longer. As long as you make a purchase, or redeem a reward, the birthday gift, or a gift card within a year, you can continue to accumulate your points and they won't expire! Completing a Beauty Insider Challenge should also keep your account active.
