How long does it take for an order to be 'in progress'?

I ordered items on the 10th with the 3 day shipping. It's still showing up as 'in progress' in the order status and 1 of the items order has since gone out of stock. I'm getting a little worried since normally the orders ship out the next day, if not the same day I place the order.
