Horrible Store Experience

So last night was the first night I went out with my fiance since I had my baby more than three months ago. The first place we went was Sephora because he knew I was dying to go! I usually only purchase from brands themselves and skip Sephora all together just because of bad past experiences that I have had with employees. Yesterday was no different unfortunately. I had a list of things I wanted to purchase but I really needed a good liquid liner. I noticed an employee who's liner looked flawless and asked her if I could ask her a question when she had a moment. She said "what's your question" rather snobbishly. I ignored the attitude and told her her eyeliner looked amazing and asked what she used. She replied "Kat Von D" I asked if her there was any way she would be able to show me how she does hers because I was feeling like I could improve and wanted some guidance. She said "I guess so but you have to buy the product first." I bought the eyeliner and was given my bag and told "have a good day" as she walked away. I was so embarrassed, my fiance and i stood around to see if maybe she would come over to me or tell me to come over to  the vanity to show me. That never happened. At this point I was so upset I left without buying anything else and decided then that was the last time I would go to a Sephora store. I also wanted desperately to get shade matched and try a sample of fenty foundation because I have heard such great things about it. I've also been told flat out "no" when asking for samples in the past. Ive had friends who've worked at Sephora tell me to ask for them but never once received one. I've been told, "if you don't like it bring it back" instead. Why Sephora refuses to set a higher standard for the level of care their customers receive, is beyond me. Customer service should be your number one priority because without them you have nothing. I spend thousands of dollars yearly on makeup but that goes directly to my favorite brands themselves instead of Sephora. I have a feeling that is what I will continue to do, unfortunately. I have a Sephora right down the road from me and would love to be able to go there in person but I am just always let down by the service I receive. It's sad really.

That’s horrible! I’m sorry you had to experience that. I wish I could go over and do your winged liner for you right now! I’ve been Rouge for years and even I notice a difference in the SA when they realize I really do spend. It’s unfortunate and I honestly don’t blame you for not going back. BUT...congratulations on your new addition! Take the money you were going to spend at Sephora and go get a massage. Lol. We alllll need it.
