Given wrong product an cant get points back

Is there any recourse for me here?

I am was in the store and asked for Gucci Guilty EDP and was given the men’s version & I didn’t realize until after I’d paid for it, I also used 10$ in points to purchase.
I immediately went back into the store to speak with the person who helped me, they looked for the one I wanted & told me it was out of stock. They also told me that if I wanted to exchange at another location, my point used in this transaction could be reapplied to the exchange (new) item. 
I did go to another location and the points could not be applied. I ended up paying 20$ more (for the base price difference between the men’s & woman’s). The women’s version is $10 more than the men’s and ended up paying an additional $10 because the points were not reapplied.
Long story sort I ended paying full price with no discount.
