Gift cards with $0 balance

My husband purchased a gift card at one of your JCPenney locations for $120 and when I went to use it it says $0 balance.

Hello,

I contacted their customer service and was told that I needed the gift card number in question. I don’t have that number as the gift card I was given is different than the one listed on the receipt. They referred me back to Sephora. I have called your customer service as well.

It sounds like is likely a Sephora inside JCPenney gift card, which can be redeemed at any Sephora inside JCPenney store or online in the "Sephora" section of JCPenney's website.
