Gift card

 

I received a $50 Sephora gift card for Christmas and decided to load it onto the Sephora app, assuming I’d be able to use it in-store. When I went to the store to purchase two items, the employee tried to help me find the gift card in the app, but after both of us searching for over 20 minutes, it was nowhere to be found. I eventually gave up and had to leave the items behind.

I’m incredibly upset because I trusted Sephora’s system to save my gift card after it showed me the balance in the app. Nowhere on the app did it disclose that the gift card would not be saved after loading it, which is why I no longer have the physical card. If I had known this, I would have simply brought the card with me instead of relying on the app.

Now, $50 has essentially disappeared, and I wasn’t able to purchase the items I wanted. From what I’ve seen online, customer service doesn’t seem to resolve this issue for others, which is disheartening. Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to fix it? I’m at a loss and would appreciate any advice or help to recover my gift card. This situation has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

@DoraG I'm sorry for the confusion! We don't have an area in the app to save your gift card for future use. If you still have a receipt with the first 12 digits, we may be able to locate the gift card in our system.
