Gift card issue

A number of days ago, I attempted to place an online order and entered my gift card to pay for a portion of the order. It accepted the gift card and showed the $50 coming off the total cost. When I clicked “place order”, I got an error message indicating the system could not access the gift card service and the order did not go through. However, my gift card balance is now showing as $0 when I check the balance online…so even though the order did not go through, the money has been taken off my gift card. I have not been able to get any help on how to remedy this - I was told the pre-authorization would lift and the funds would go back onto the gift card, but this has not been the case. I would appreciate help getting the $50 back onto my gift card. Thanks!
