Gift card is not working

Hi! My dad gave me a gift card today for Christmas and I keep getting this error message at checkout. 

Unable to place your order. Please verify that your card information and billing address are correct.

If applicable, we have reversed any pending charges to your account.

Saw online that I did not have to activate the card so I am not sure what the problem is. I also made sure to not put spaces in the card number.

Mine is doing almost the same thing! I got a fifty dollar one for my birthday and it keeps telling me my balance is zero, not once has it ever been used.

I have a $250 gift card that has told me repeatedly has a zero balance and I have never used it.

Hi! I need help with ordering my order, after I click the checkout it told me "Unable to place your order. Please verify that your card information and billing address are correct. If applicable, we have reversed any pending charges to your account." I've checked if everything is correct a few times and everything is right. I ordered other things with the same information and it worked, but now it won't. I have tired resetting things and checking for updates but it won't work please help.
