Gift card buyers beware

I purchased Sephora gift cards to make an online purchase. I had multiple cards that the PIN numbers removed while gently removing the protective coating. Why is this an issue with your gift cards? When I called the support number on the back I was told I can only purchase in store items with the pin removed, which is a problem when I don’t have access to a local store. I feel that Sephora should do the customers a service and fix this issue and work with customers who do not have immediate access to a store. My $400 in cards were meant to make a purchase online and now they are worthless to me. I will reach out to every online community to warn potential customers of your defective cards.
