Gift card balance gone!

I got a $50 gift card, used a part of it in store and $34 balance remained on it. When I tried to order online the gift card had $0 balance. I figured something must be wrong online so I went to the same store I had used it at and again $0 balance. I have the physical gift card and the receipt yet no one seems to know what happened. There is no way anyone got their hands on the physical gift card because it was in my wallet the entire time and I certainly haven’t used it and no one else had access to it. Has this happened to other people and what did you do? At this point I think Sephora gift cards are not worth getting, you spend the money and get no products and no help to resolve the issue

it happened  to me to. 40 $ gone also can't see the whole 16 digits.

In my group of 4 friends, 2 of us lost the money on our Sephora gift cards. We have all decided to never buy them again and as much as possible buy directly from the brands if possible. Better sales by the brands as well.

Still, I’d recommend escalating this with Sephora corporate directly, especially since you have proof of both the purchase and unused balance.

Sadly nothing came of the escalation other than knowing the balance was stolen a few weeks after I used the card in store at Sephora Oakville Place. Sephora does NOT care for its customers at all.

In our group of 4 friends, 2 have had their gift card balances wiped out fraudulently. Yet Sephora does nothing, they could have a 2 factor authentication at the very least but they don’t care.

I am now directly purchasing from the brand websites whenever possible and avoiding Sephora. The brands have way better sales and give much better samples. All of us friends have stopped buying Sephora gift cards and are telling friends and family to do the same. 
After spending thousands of dollars at Sephora we are super disappointed at being treated this way by all levels of Sephora. They’ve lost our business and we were loyal customers.

i turned the messages on, I have the gift card, I have the receipt from when I used it last and i just got off the Sephora gift card helpline where i was told that giftcards are like cash, once used never replaced. EXCEPT cash in my wallet would have remained there whereas this gift card balance is gone! Did the associate who rang me up steal the balance, was the Sephora terminal at the store rigged? Given your size, you really should take responsibility for this blatant stealing of people's money without giving any products in return.
